That’s a dictionary definition of ‘domestic’ anyway. We all know what ‘bliss’ is. Putting the two together creates a picture in my mind of being as comfortable as I can in all things, even down to the cup I drink my coffee from in the morning.
Domesticity may be seen by some as a ‘dirty’ word and that we should be more focused on education, career, relationships, money etc. As far as I’m concerned whatever the area you choose to be the focus of your attention, having a good, clean, supportive base from which all those values spring is essential.
So let’s get down to the business of creating your domestic haven with some cleaning, this week it’s:
Fridge Cleaning Tips
Turn the fridge off
Clean when you have the least food in your fridge
Remove all the food. Either put in a cool box or wrap in thick newspaper
Remove shelves and drawers
Wash these in warm soapy water, rinse and air dry
Sprinkle some bi-carbonate of soda in the bottom of your fridge. Take a clean damp cloth, dab it in the bi-carb and start cleaning the interior walls of the fridge starting at the top.
Door seals – use a damp cloth or toothbrush.
Occasionally pull the fridge out and clean the top, sides and gently hoover the condenser coil at the back using the brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner
Clean the floor underneath
Top Fridge Cleaning Tip
Fill a clean sock or nylon stocking with fresh coffee and leave on the bottom shelf of your fridge, this will help to deodorize any smells.
